While in the field, the student is compensated at a salary level consistent with a full-time employee with similar skill sets. A co-op provides on-site supervision, training and concrete learning objectives with the goal of broadening skills and knowledge as well as career confidence. On-site supervisors provide regular feedback about the student’s progress.
- Co-ops are open to any major with a co-op track.
- Current majors with a co-op track include: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Political Science (International, Pre-law, and Government Concentrations), and Geosciences (GIS Concentration).
- Georgia State students seeking co-op eligibility must enroll in the pre-co-op program and successfully complete all requirements, including the co-op preparation workshops hosted by University Career Services, complete the required courses, maintain the required GPA for co-op admissions and be approved in advance by their faculty or staff advisor.
